St Canice’s Instrumental Music Programme short-listed for National Arts Award!
St Canice’s N.S. Instrumental Music Programme has been short listed for the 2014 Allianz Community Arts Prize as part of the Allianz Business to Arts Awards Scheme. The Allianz Business to Arts Awards recognises businesses, artists and arts organisations that develop creative partnerships across the community. The music programme has been short listed in the Community Arts category which recognises socially and culturally responsible arts projects that engage with the community. Two other organisations have also been short listed for an award in this category; “Creative Exchanges” which aims to improve the quality of life of older people in residential and day-care settings by empowering people who work with them to develop skills to facilitate a range of creative activities and “Helium Arts”, which is an arts and health non profit organisation, which aims to give a creative voice to children with serious illnesses. The awards will be presented by Honorary Patron of Business to Arts, President Michael D Higgins, at the Allianz Business to Arts Awards ceremony in the National Concert Hall on 9 September. We are delighted and honoured to have been short listed for such a prestigious award!
