Blown Beats Concert Rehearsal and Performance Information

The Senior Orchestra of 2013/14 will be performing at Culture Night at the Design Yard (behind the Design Centre) next Friday 19 September at 5pm. The orchestra are opening the evening and should be completed by 5.30pm.

A short orchestra rehearsal will take place in the big room in St Canices on next Tuesday 16 September from 4.30-6pm. I would appreciate if all of last years orchestra, including those who have since left St Canices, could attend this rehearsal. If you are unable to attend the rehearsal and/or the performance on Friday 19 September, please email stcanicesimp.com to give an indication of numbers attending. Children will need to wear the usual orchestra attire – orchestra sweatshirts will be distributed and will be taken back from children on the night, so bring a light jacket if weather is cool!

2014/2015 Timetables Now Available

Our 2014/2015 timetable is now available to view by clicking here

Music lessons resume in the school from Monday 8 September, except for Junior infants whose classes will start from Monday 15 September.   Please note that Senior Orchestra starts back Monday 15th September from 2.45pm-4.15pm, with Junior Orchestra resuming on Wednesday 17 September (2.45-4pm).

The organisation of the music programme’s huge array of lessons for all the varied instruments and multiple groups within years is a huge task. We try our very best for all families involved to make lesson days and times as suitable as possible. This year’s timetable has been particularly difficult to organise due to the increasing number of children participating and the number of instrument choices available.  It has taken 2 months of intensive work to compile.  We regret therefore, that if your child’s music class clashes with any other extra-curricular activity, that we will be unable to accommodate any timetable changes.

If you have any urgent queries regarding the timetable, please contact the Music Programme Administrator Ruth Walsh @ 087 7917960 and your query will be dealt with as soon as possible.
